<description>I was never a big fan of Springsteen and the E Street Band, even though I admire Bruce’s politics and efforts on behalf of the downtrodden. But that’s just musical taste – we all have our favorites and not-so-favorites. What I always admired about them was their work ethic; they practiced, toured, recorded and just generally worked like dogs for years before anyone outside of New Jersey ever heard of them and also, even more praiseworthy – after they made it. They never coasted, never did a greedy bastard tour. No audience ever left a concert feeling cheated – you got your money’s worth. They take what they do seriously and approach it with respect – and that is something worth celebrating.
