Splitting Hairs

I went to get my hair cut last night, and my cutter and I got to talking about politics. Guess who my tattooed, heavily-pierced stylist supports?
Hillary Clinton.
“Every time I pick up Rolling Stone, it’s Obama this, Obama that,” he said. (He’s also a musician.) “I mean, what the fuck? People I know keep wanting to convert me, they keep talking about hope and change. Hope about what? Change what? I keep asking and they never have any answers.
“They get this look in their eye like he’s fucking Jesus or something. They just make me nervous.”
His issue? Health insurance.
I wish someone would make a campaign commercial with this guy. How funny would that be?

wow,
I went to dinner last night and all of the people there supported Obama.
This included a lesbian with two kids.
Her reasons?
“Hillary just seems like a politician”
“Hillary failed to get health care the last time, why will this time be any different”
“Hillary kept taking the low-road and attacking Obama for the same BS as the media during the debate”
“Hillary voted for the war”
“The Clinton Administration Clinton signed DOMA and went along with ‘Don’t ask, don’t tell’”
“Hillary wants to take credit for everything in her husband’s administration but avoid responsibility for all the bad things like NAFTA, DOMA, don’t ask don’t tell, etc.”
“Women of a certain age all expect me to vote for Hillary just because she’s a woman.”
Well, I guess stevee got here first. I was going to say something snotty, but giventhe news this morning (and if this is true, that’s gotta sting), I just kinda feel bad for you.
I’m sorry your favored candidate is probably not going to be the nominee.
I’ll admit that Clinton has a better health care plan than Obama, but unfortunately the war she supported ensures there will be no money to pay for that plan.
It was a difficult choice for me too: edwards was my guy.
But like Steve, after NAFTA, DOMA, PRWOA, the loss of the House and the Senate thanks to DLC policies and strategeries, and the persistent reflexive need to tack to the right when under fire, I’ve been left cold.
I hope after all of this is over you’re able to make up with your friends here in meatworld.
My (also tatooed, but female, and AFAIK, not pierced) hair stylist used to cut Crazy Curt Weldon’s hair.
Then he started coming on to her, and offered to set her up in a DC apartment. Just for hair, mmm hmmm. Suuuure.
Well, her reaction was “hunh? *YUCK!!!*”
Yeah, Curt’s always been pretty famous for his extracurricular activities. I never saw the attraction. Eww!
I knew your fanboys would beat me to the post this morning, Susan — and they’ll probably keep at it right through Denver.
Ah, well … keep the baby, Faith.
I’ve have nobody anymore. I was leaning Clinton, then I just sort of started leaning Obama, but after Obama’s post debate speech, which I found despicable, I have nobody. I kind of hope Clinton wins the nomination because of the health care issue, but her proposals are only marginally better than Obama’s and both of them are only just offering us a way to pay off the insurance companies. They are both servants to corporate masters. Edwards was my guy.
curt weldon being a FREAK is not something I needed to consider right now…
maybe if you bang him he lets you know all his secret al queda info?!?!?!?
um, steveboy and brendan,
what exactly is your problem with this post? susie is just recounting her experience, something she’s been doing since long before this endless primary started (just click on the “my so-called life” tag at the bottom).
