The Playing Field

As long as we don’t have public financing, we’re going to have questions about stories like these. But as long as we have a system that requires obscene amounts of cash to get elected, situations like this are inevitable.

If Obama’s early career deserves more speculation about possible conflicts then so do his opponents.
McCain - Keating Five; now there’s something proven to be corrupt. Democrats will push that to the forefront if the msm will allow it. His cosiness with lobbyists provides a bunch of possible conflict of interest stories since then as well.
Clinton - About the same time period as this Obama story; quite a few newspaper stories about Bill granting clemency to convicted FALN terrorists in what could be seen as an exchange for support from NY Puerto Ricans in Hillary’s Senate race. The clemency came very shortly after a letter to Hillary from a prominent NY PR activist, and you know Republicans will push that non stop just like Hillary’s and McCain’s campaign have pushed Reverend Wright. It has already begun on some right wing blogs. I found these links there:

Whoever is in the general, these will also come up. The only question is whether they will get equal play with an Obama story that is, quite frankly, minuscule in comparison.
This seems like a unfair post Suzy.
From the article
“Obama’s letter on behalf of the table tennis tournament did not “rise to the level of a conflict of interest” because Obama did not have decision-making authority over the grant.”
Please stop attacking the likely nominee of our party.
