The Angels Wanna Play My Red Strat

One of my readers emailed me last week to ask if I wanted his old Strat.
As longtime readers know, I’ve been mourning the loss of my lovely black Fender Stratocaster since it was sold during the Great Recession of Post-9/11. So I jumped at the chance.
It arrived today and I’m already in love with it. And it’s red! (Did I mention that everything in my life seems to be red lately? The new couch, the new car…) He threw in a bunch of strings, and a beautiful tooled-leather strap with a thick sheepskin lining (perfect for my temperamental neck and shoulder).
Sometimes people are so nice, there’s nothing left to say except a big fat thank you.
Thanks, Bill! What a nice thing to do!

Aww! That’s above and beyond the call of sweet!
I useta have a black Strat too, but was stupid enough to leave it in the back seat of my car for ten minutes one night, and I came back to find my rear passenger window shattered and my guitar gone. I replaced it with a red Telecaster that I loved even more, though…here’s hoping your red replacement is equally lovable for you!
Awesome! Reckon Bill is a right good guy, eh? Well done!!
I”m the guy who had the guitar, and sent it along. I did it after reading one of the stories on Suburban Guerilla about the kindness of strangers. I felt like it was my turn.
In the spirit of NPR fundraisers, I challenge SG readers to do something nice for someone who has less than you. There’s a lot of good waiting to be done in this world, and it needs to be done soon.
