Good Deed, Anyone?

One of my co-workers has been in the hospital since January as they tried to identify the cause of his infection and internal bleeding. They finally identified the source as one of the artificial hips he’d had implanted after he was hit by a drunk driver in 1995, suffering two broken hips and a severe head injury. (He’s been walking with braces and crutches ever since.)
Well, it turned out he also had a malignant tumor in his upper leg, and they amputated it two weeks ago. He’s doing okay, except he’s been out of work a while and the bills are piling up. (Apparently the insurance doesn’t cover everything - big shock! - and I keep thinking how, since I have the same insurance, I’d need help if it was me.)
Anyway, his kids are running a fundraiser and I thought some of you might like to help. If you’re interested, contact me directly and I’ll tell you details so you can make out a check. Thanks.
