Well, that was embarrassing.

Interesting that he follows a post triumphantly titled “We Nominated the Black Guy!” with a post in which he seems to be cutting out all of the black people. The coalition to get the nomination was the creative class and African-Americans, but only the creative class gets to run the show, I guess. Maybe black people should start drinking PBR and shopping at Whole Foods.

p.s. how on earth did Matt Yglesias become the arbiter of cool?

I would guess Matt became the arbiter of cool around the time folks like you thought it was cool to talk about the “creative class”. I bet you bashed Obama for using right-wing frames too. Oh yeah, the Whole Foods schtick is another really winning frame, I am sure you are bringing tons of undecideds into your fold with that.

Sorry, did you miss the part where Chris Bowers is the one talking without irony about the creative class, Whole Foods and PBR?

I never did understand why the hipsters all started drinking shitty beer a few years ago. You can’t swing a dead cat in parts of Brooklyn without hitting a hipster bar with PBR specials.

I didn’t even drink that stuff in college, when the best I could afford was Bud. When I started making money, I drank better beer; if you can afford to buy your food at Whole Foods you can afford a non-shitty beer. Besides, I don’t drink ironically.
