As someone who knows a little bit about how discourses about gender, sexuality, and the family have been used historically in politics and warfare, I feel very confident that historians in the not-so-distant future will agree much more with Digby, Somerby, and their ilk than Russert, Matthews, etc. It’s so flippin’ obvious, unless one has a political stake in denying it.
Man, I worked on a bunch of stupid analogies last night for the next time somebody went off on this again, and nobody’s going off.
