The Anxiety of Happiness

I have to say, I’m pretty happy these days. It’s amazing what a year of employment at a decent wage will do for your morale, particularly when you enjoy your work and your co-workers. (Okay, there is that worrisome grinding vibration in the right front of the car when I make a hard turn, but at least I have a job that probably pays enough to fix it.) I’m finally taking care of lots of nagging health problems and if I had to pick a word, I’d say “content.” I’m quite content.
Which, of course, worries me.
It seems like every time I’ve been this happy, something comes along to ruin it. (Hah - is this entire post just an excuse to link to a Kim Richey song?)

Hey, suck it up.
Take it in, enjoy every bit of it, share it.
You’re an artist, right? Take in all that beauty that you’ve been distracted from seeing, too.
Enjoy all that music! Enjoy all your loved and cherished ones.
This happiness stuff is really good medicine! Everyone always says how you can learn from difficulty…true, but UGH.
It’s amazing how much a person can learn from joy! and amazing how much easier it is just to “be”.
Take it in, deeply. Your soul knows this is your true music (or something.)
Don’t jinx yourself, already.
for me me happiness is think positive !
Yeah. What they said. But fix the car. That won’t get better and can hurt you and/or someone else.
Maybe it’s the bearings in the wheel?
