Summer Songs

This weekend, I’m posting summer songs - either songs about summer, or songs that are, for some reason, tied to summer in my mind.
Make your own suggestions in the comments and tell me why it’s a summer song for you. I’ll try to get them up.

A classic:
Nat King Cole - Roll out Those Lazy, Hazy, Crazy Days of Summer
song of the summer for me is whatever song gets played a lot in summer on the radio or some other place.
at some point you hear it for the millionth time and you just know “that’s the song of the summer”
–remember, this just happens, you don’t really get to pick so if they are bad songs you just have to deal with it.
some past songs of the summer for me include:
–not sure of all the titles…
seasons in the sun–terry jacks
baker street–Gerry Rafferty
sweet child o mine– g n’ r
sorry miss jackson–outkast
love fool– the cardigans
young folks– peter bjorn and john
the thong song– sysco (sic)
it’s gettin’ hot in here–nellie
currently, I would argue that the “song of the summer” is that “I kissed a girl” song…
anything by Jackson Browne. Don’t know why exactly, except it just always reminds me of summer and listening to the radio and chasing lightening bugs at night…
“Afternoon Delight” by the Starland Vocal Band
“Beach Baby”
forget who sang it
“Beach Baby, Beach Baby give me your hand…..just like before we could walk by the shore in the moonlight…”"
Summertime…
Live version
Chad and Jeremy’s Summer Song.
Boys of Summer.
And Springsteen always makes me think of summer.
Sitting In The Midday Sun - The Kinks
“Look at all the ladies. Lookin’ their best in their summer dresses.”
