When I saw Joe Biden get himself rhetorically worked up about Georgia and make belligerent noises, I shut off the TV. I’m done with supporting imperialistic wars, and if the only “hope and change” we get is getting to “choose” which war is next, no thanks.

but biden is against going to war in georgia. he is for making russia punishing russia for its actions there, but not by invading the place.
i think it’s a sign of the pernicious effects of 8 years of the bush administration that you would assume that any call to do something about a crisis must mean a military attack.

You’re certainly not a progressive.
As a peace and justice activist, I was frightfully disappointed with this part of Biden’s speech but I listened to the end and I will let him know how I feel. For one thing, Georgia started the mess by bombing the politically estranged area in the middle of the night (somethings usually not mentioned) — for more on this listen to Helena Cobban speaking on FAIR.org’s CounterSpin August 15 show.
