Some Stuff

I almost choked to death last night. It’s sort of an odd experience and one that I wouldn’t recommend. I feel absolutely awful today. I assume this is normal, but again, this choking thing is pretty new to me. I feel the way I do when I have a very bad case of the flu. The air feels extremely cold on my skin. I can’t stop shivering and every part of my body hurts. My guess is that my immune system is reacting to all the crap that got into my lungs.
Anyway, I’m supposed be filling in a bit for Susie while she’s away. I’m just not up to it today. Hopefully some others will be along to help fill the void.
I’ll finish by mentioning that my apartment has recently developed a stray kitten infestation. She’s a very good cat, and we haven’t been able to locate the owner (if there even is one), so it looks like we’ll be keeping her. We still don’t have a name for her. I’ve been leaning towards Ming Ming the Pirate, or Al Gore, but I’m not sold on either of them. Leave some suggestions in comments.

I imagine choking is in some ways the same as a bad asthma attack, in which case it’s an adrenaline hangover.

The last time I got adopted by a cat, I ended up naming her Boudicca.
Turned out to be appropriate. Very.
“Elizabeth I” or “Zenobia of Palmyra” would have been just as good a match to her personality, but they were both a tad long.

Well, the cat is never going to figure out that her name isn’t necessarily gender appropriate. The other cats aren’t going to make fun of her at school.

I guess it would be too weird to just name her Amanda? If you don’t want to name her after someone who dresses like a pirate, why don’t you check here for inspiration.
If you don’t feel better you really should see a doctor–you may have aspirated something into you lungs–that can lead to pneumonia days after the initial choking episode (as sometimes happens to people w/ swallowing disorders). Take care of yourself!
