Palin’s Speech

Since the measure of success in these things has become not losing a major American city, the Republican Convention is proceeding with the two most interesting speeches intact. The hurricane did manage to wipe out any possibility of a George W. Bush pageant breaking out in Minnesota this week. I’m sure they’re grateful.
The expectations for Palin’s speech tomorrow night are so low, that almost nobody is expecting anything worthwhile from her. Save for the possibility that she walks out on stage and takes a noisy shit into a trash can while screaming “Praise Jesus,” I don’t think she has a chance of doing worse than expectations.
More than likely, she’ll shine a little and the press will lap it up. All will be forgiven, and we’ll be sitting around, slack jawed, wondering what the fuck happened.
Such is life. I’m still not used to it.

“Since the measure of success in these things has become not losing a major American city..”
Does Alaska have a “major American city”? No? Okay, then, vetting accomplished!
Wow, the long knives are out all over the place! She must be some kinda threat besides absolutely galvanizing the conservative base, which will only grow if stuff like this continues.
All will be forgiven
You GOTTA be kidding. Really.
Given that she’s not even being allowed any input on her own speech, I would suspect that she’ll do just fine. Except that you’ll not know any more about her than you already do, which I think the RNC sees as a feature, not a bug.
