Another fun site-analysis UTL is Blog Readability Test. Out of curiosity, I decided to submit some sites to this test. Here are the results:

–Americablog (John Aravosis): Elementary schoolThere are some shockers there. I mean, the Daily Kos is written at a higher intellectual level than The New Yorker or Historiann? Are they kidding? However, I do think they pegged John Aravosis just right. I’m assuming a “Nursery school” option wasn’t available.
Apparently I’m an overachiever! And so are my readers!
Keeping in mind, of course, that 1) I’m a high-school graduate and 2) the advisor on my friend’s thesis criticized her work (which I’d edited) as “too clear and concise” for academia. Because, you know, if just anyone could read things….
mmm, one of my blogs is classified as College undergrad (yeah, right) and the other as Elementary school. I think any half witted simian could manage either one.
by design, US newspapers are written at a 6-8th grade level…

I’m Jr. High? Well, it could be a fair estimation. I guess that’s the level academics are at when they complain about their jobs (the majority of my blogging this semester.) Or, maybe I should stop using the term “wev.”

Whew, those are some pretty weird results! Have to wonder about that test. New Yorker is Jr. High? And Atrios is Elementary level???
Gotta agree with the Greenwald/Genius bit though! ^_^

It’s a blog I created a while ago but never followed through with. So the site consists basically of a transcript of a speech by George Bush. Where’s the genius in that?
