Pluto Done It

Pluto changes signs Friday (plus, Uranus went direct this morning), and astrologically speaking, it’s a big deal - the more rare the aspect, the more important it is. (Pluto takes 233 years to return to a sign. The last time it was in Capricorn was 1762 to 1779.)
This has to do with authority, power and the abuses thereof. Expect to see a revolutionary new system of checks and balances in place by the time Pluto finally moves on to Aquarius in 2024.
Now, outer planet transits are always a little, um, colorful - you’ll typically see things in your life suddenly speed up, as if your circumstances were suddenly on fast forward. We’ll see rapid evolutionary change on global and personal levels. For those of you who are interested, you can read more about it here, here, here, here, here and here. (And if this offends you, I suggest you refrain from reading it.)

And if this offends you, I suggest you refrain from reading it.
It didn’t offend at all. It amused.
Will it be possible… a reunion of The Fifth Dimension in 2024?
When the moon is in the Seventh House and Jupiter aligns with Mars. Then peace will guide the planets and love will steer the stars.
This is the dawning of the age of Aquarius, the age of Aquarius.
Aquarius! Aquarius!
Harmony and understanding, sympathy and trust abounding.
No more falsehoods or derisions, holden living dreams of visions.
Mystic crystal revalation and the mind’s true liberation.
Aquarius! Aquarius!
So much for the last age of Aquarius, I guess…
I like this astrological prophesy much better, although, I’m sad to note, the original Mayan culture won’t be around to enjoy it:
At sunrise on December 21, 2012 for the first time in 26,000 years the Sun rises to conjunct the intersection of the Milky Way and the plane of the ecliptic. This cosmic cross is considered to be an embodiment of the Sacred Tree, The Tree of Life, a tree remembered in all the world’s spiritual traditions. Some observers say this alignment with the heart of the galaxy in 2012 will open a channel for cosmic energy to flow through the earth, cleansing it and all that dwells upon it, raising all to a higher level of vibration.
The ultimate realignment of shakras and crystals, I suppose.
I’m a scorp, so Pluto is mine anyway, and Capricorn frightens me more than any other sign (poster child = Tiger Woods, the Terminator of the golf course).
It’s like giving a nuclear weapon to Nurse Ratched. It isn’t that she wants to use it, but the patients just won’t take their medicine and be quiet. Interesting times for sure.
Ah well, Susie, as someone who learned astrology many years ago in order to debunk it, don’t let the skeptics bother you. There’s more than one way to view the universe and those whom insist that any view is proven are the ones mistaken. I prefer being able to entertain the possibility of several, a kind of tilt your head and change your worldview perspective. I don’t blame the debunkers much; I’m a natural skeptic myself with my Moon in Aquarius.
The coming t-square of Saturn in Libra, Uranus in Aries and Pluto in Capricorn is, of course, the most significant detail to me. The emphasis of the Pluto/Saturn square with Pluto in Saturn’s natural sign is somewhat alarming. Pluto/Saturn contacts are always very severe with scarcity and poverty emphasized. Uranus in this configuration speaks of revolution, especially in such an active sign as Aries. I think we are in for a period of transformation on the world stage that hasn’t been seen since the days of the European and American revolutionary period driven by a lack of resources and an initial increase of the Authoritarian State. I definitely see the potential for catastrophic climate events affecting the food supply as well. This is the astrological confirmation of the most pessimistic view of the future expressed in the blogs.
On the upside, Pluto reveals the hidden and part of what may drive the revolutionary forces is a revelation of government methods. So we just may get more knowledge of the Bush Years and laws that will make it harder for it to happen again even though actually bringing the criminals to trial seems unlikely at this moment. It could happen though since Saturn in Libra is Justice with a capital J.
The other upside is the prospect of a better world after the hardships of these transformative years. Very severe astrological events like this aspect pattern always hold the potential of spiritual growth.
Thanks for the update. It’s been years since I’ve played with astrology.
Who would be offended? Please keep writing about it. I may not understand it all, but it makes for interesting reading.
merciless
Don’t be too worried just because you are a Scorpio. This t-square is made of outer planets so its affect is likely to be generational rather than personal. How it affects you also depends on your natal chart and what relationship Pluto and Saturn have to each other and your Sun in your chart.
You also could be channeling these energies in a postive way and be one of the individuals that brings about the change this aspect pattern will bring.
I didn’t think I’d revisit this thread but hey, it’s like nectar to bees.

The art of astrology is thousands of years old. Observations, calculations and predictions have been made throughout all that time. How is it that the rarity of the “interactions” of the outer planets is so important, when for 95% of the existence of astrology, the three outer planets beyond Saturn were unknown to astrologers?
If Pluto spends fifteen years in each constellation what is it doing the remainder of the time? “Pluto changes signs Friday” … not Thursday, not Saturday, but Friday! For a planet that orbits the sun once every 85,000 earth days it’s spectacular to be able to say the exact day it changes signs. I LOVE THAT!
I have no problem with anyone believing astrology, just as I have no problem with anyone believing religion, or those who believe both, or neither. Isn’t it just a bit earth-centric though, to believe that everything in the universe is centered around Earth? How quaint. How very Ptolemaic. Aristotelian, even.
Okay, Randy, I’ll engage. You are right, astrologists didn’t know about the outer planets for thousands of years, just like physics didn’t know about sub atomic particles for thousands of years. Knowledge expands; advances are made and modify what came before.
Astrology is earth based because it is assessing the affect of energies on earth based objects.
Your point about knowing when Pluto changes signs is just kind of weird. Mathematics tells us about the movements of the planets in both astrology and astronomy. There is an argument to be made that astrology’s mathematics is off but you didn’t make it.
Now, if you want to say it is totally whacked to think planetary masses have an energy that affects the behavior of events on Earth, I have no come back. It is whacked and never fails to astonish me when astrology seems to work even though it really shouldn’t.
Astrology does indeed work, for people who believe it does. It’s sort of like people who believe in psychics like Montel’s “Sylvia.” People want to believe she’s got “the power” and sometimes forget her failures, like the day I was watching Montel’s show and Sylvia told the parents of Shawn Hornbeck their son was dead, and got every last detail of the event wrong. Maybe she was having a bad day, some would say.
…just like physics didn’t know about sub atomic particles for thousands of years.
Not knowing about subatomic particles didn’t change the fact that they existed and influenced the state of matter and energy, unlike not knowing about the outer planets. Astrologers believe that the planets and stars have an important influence on daily lives and events on earth. Astrologers have, for thousands of years, made observations and calculations based on our Sun, six planets and the stars and they have made predictions and forecasts based on their limited knowledge of our solar system. Now that we know about the outer planets it seems so convenient to give them more prominence in astrological readings in an attempt, (as least it seems to me), to claim we can make more accurate forecasts because we know more about our solar system.
There is an argument to be made that astrology’s mathematics is off but you didn’t make it.
It didn’t seem necessary to make that argument unless you think I should’ve explicitly spelled out that 15 times 12 does not equal 233.
I don’t deny that the sun and the moon exert influence on the Earth but I would draw the line there instead of postulating the other planets with their own moons and minimal total cosmic mass are on an equal footing in their influence on the Earth. It’s just not there and I doubt that future scientists will ever make an argument that it exists.
Having said all that, I don’t have a problem with anyone believing anything they want to believe. If it helps to believe that success and failure in life are pre-determined either by place and time of birth related to planetary and star alignments, or by divine guidance or lack thereof, so be it.
