To pass the unemployment extension as a standalone bill under suspension of the rules. It’s on C-SPAN now.
UPDATE: Nope, the House Republicans are now on record against the bill, but Harry Reid is still trying to work something out in the Senate.

I’ve always found the claim that these people are Christians laughable. Whatever happened to caring for the poor and sick? Yegads. And I’m not even a Christian!
I honestly think the Rs don’t give a rat’s shiny pink nose if their policies cause a lot of us dying of starvation, suicide, and preventable diseases.
Possibly excepted: those of us they know personally (or the presumably smaller group whom they know personally and like) — but I would hate to have to count on that as my best hope.
I wouldn’t count on it. My own brother explained to me I was a “leech” for being on unemployment extensions.
