On the face of it, I want to think this is good. We Southerners love our junk food, and Tastykake is nothing if not junk food. In the long run I suspect it will lead to jobs leaving Philly for warmer climes, where wages are lower and labor unions are unwelcome.
I can’t say I’m familiar with Flowers, except that I see they now own Sunbeam Bread, whose blond, blue-eyed devil baby mascot gave me nightmares as a child. We ate Merita instead.
