   Now, the part about “…The dolls were apparently trialled in Nazi-occupied Jersey at the German barracks in St Hellier…”

   “Trialled”, huh? How exactly? Some combination of a stopwatch, used condom counts, socks that suddenly needed washing out, and a noticeable increase in cigarette consumption?

   Something like that?

   Jesus, thank G-d, I have my well worn disc of the “Trojan Women” to fall back upon, to cheer me up and help me sleep.

   Primo Levi, upon his arrival in Auschwitz, looked around, and asked “Why?” He was told “There is no ‘why’ here.”

   Nor in Brooklyn, apparently.
