Actually, I keep flashing on “Judge Dredd” — not the craptacular 90s movie with Sylvester “can’t pronounce the catchphrase” Stallone, but the comic book. If you’ve never read it, Mega City One has a population of 800 million people with an 87% unemployment rate and a police force that is judge, jury, and executioner. Riot control figures large in the story, including giant padded bulldozers called “Movement Assisting Vehicles.”
