Looking at Luntz.

It occurs to me that rephrasing “taxing the rich,” to “taking from the rich” is a blessing.

Go ahead. Put the idea of taking that yacht and that fourth home away from the rich into people’s heads. See what happens.

  1. I’m with you–that phrasing works in our favor because the other half of that sentence is “…and give to the poor.” Which is 1) what Robin Hood did, and he’s one of literature’s good guys; and 2) ithe perfect way to re-brand ‘entitlement spending’.

  2. I guess ‘taking from the rich’ is more soothingly neutral than the historically proven natural endgame of this war, “kill the rich.” Oh and BTW, I’ve no objection to the term entitlement as long as it’s explained that working men and women are ‘entitled’ to these benefits because they PAID for them every fucking day of their working lives. Something that can’t be said for the 0.1% leaches.
