One thought on “Autumn

  1. Oh, shush. I’m stuck in Los Angeles, where it’s high 90s–100s for the next few weeks. “But it’s *dry* heat”, you say. Not any more…global weirding has introduced us to the concept of humidity.

Let’s see…it’s been 40 years since the first Earth Day, where they warned us it was coming. (And Jimmy Carter, History’s Greatest Monster, actually put solar panels on the White House, and worked towards a fossil-fuel free future. “Nonsense”, said Avenging Saint Ronnie as he tore the solar panels down.) It’s been six years since Al Gore introduced us to “An Inconvenient Truth”, and heads nodded sagely and did nothing. And it’s been a few days since Obama ran down the “all-of-the-above” strategy again.

We’re fucked. But then again, we’ve probably been fucked for the 40 years since the Powell Memorandum. And probably further back.

Sigh. I envy you your weather…I do miss the autumns back east. Enjoy it for me! 🙂
