  1. Ha. I called the local doc-in-a-box to see how much it would be to walk in to see a doc about this cold I’ve had for two weeks. After askinf if I had insurance (no, of course not), she still couldn’t give me a straigght answer and said it would be between 79 and 100 dollars.
I suppose if I am white it costs a certain price and if I’m not it’s another price? wtf.
This mess can burn in hell.
Nyquil is my health plan now.

  2. Next time some loudmouth pops off about the superiority of the private sector, hit them over the head with this story. The pharma industry is stone corrupt.

  3. Yes IIess, that’s how Big Pharma got big. They lied, paid off the politicians as far back as Nixon, and changed the course of health care with the blessings of the AMA. Of course all this led to the destruction of the mom and pop pharmacies that dealt mostly with old home remedys and low cost drugs formulated right there in the pharmacy. Those places are few and far between these days.

  4. Yep – and now it’s in GMO foods too. With the crap that Archers-Daniel-Midland and Monsanto are adding to our foods is it any wonder that many die of cancer now? The French study a week or so back really opens the door to proper labelling, which these corporations lobby hard against to prevent (and they’ve been successful so far).
We have no idea what we’re eating any more. One discussion i had with someone in the food store showed how little people know. She was going on and on about the merits of tofu. i explained to her that most tofu comes from soybeans and that over 90% of them are genetically engineered varieties. She was stunned. One really has to dig to get the truth. Even ‘organic’ is only a label and can be gotten around by these devious industries looking to maximize profit at any cost (to the environment or the consumer – they don’t care).
Do your research. Watch what you eat. Read Michael Pollan.
