This year, in Montgomery, Alabama, our murder (by gun?) rate has risen dramatically according to last year. Apparently, it has to do with young, black men with guns.
Sorry. Just Google it. I have no patience. As a 50-ish woman who used to walk and ride her bicycle at night here, just look it up.
Otoh, our police chief not too long ago apologized to John Lewis—and gave him his badge—for the Freedom Riders fiasco. Lewis got especially beat up when the Montgomery Police Dept failed to step in. This is my understanding anyway.
And Mayor Todd Strange was exhibited in a photo apologizing to the Whitehurst family. Seems odd since Todd Strange seems like an total douchebag asshole. Hard to say.
