Maybe true but it is a political reality. Substituting a constitutional crisis for the debt ceiling crunch is a terrible political gambit. Playing this out by impeachment realigns the blame and actually may create shifting alliances. I don’t agree with much that Obama does these days, but the administration has directly and loudly put this option off the table. The political staredown is the best choice.
