  1. I’ve read reports that this was an open primary and that many democrats came out to vote against Cantor. If so, Brat probably/hopefully won’t win the actual election.

The T-baggers in Virginia handed the American people three gifts last night. 1) They got rid of Eric Cantor (even AIPAC couldn’t save him). 2) They dealt a serious body blow to the oligarchy (money isn’t everything). But most importantly 3) They buried any comprehensive immigration reform legislation until at least 2017 (a huge defeat for Wall Street and the Big corporations). Every once in awhile the Left wins on all fronts. In any congressional district without an open primary and/or a Democrat running without any opposition, every Democrat should re-register as a Republican and cast their vote against the Republican incumbent. The Democrats could “Cantor” all kinds of politicians.
