Controlling the narrative

Something has really changed in this war on Gaza: Social media has smashed the official version of events. From what I’ve read, Israel is at a loss about how to control their version of events.

Intimidating the mainstream media and politicians used to work. It doesn’t work now. It’s quite astounding, what Twitter and Facebook can do.

  1. Maybe people are realizing what a low life scum ball Bibi is, and that Obama is his fluffer! Oh, am I being to harsh?

  2. Kerry announced a ceasefire today. The Israeli war cabinet immediately rejected it. When asked about the Israeli rejection of his ceasefire Kerry said that someone was doing “mischief.” Two hours later the Israeli’s announce a unilateral 12 hour “pause” beginning at midnight. 30 minutes later Israel announced that the “pause” would begin at 7AM. Two hours after that Hamas announced a 12 hour unilateral “pause” beginning at 8AM. “Slowly I turned, inch by inch….”

  3. I suppose Israel could shut down the major social media players.
    That’s technologically possible, isn’t it?

  4. The internet and phone lines are cut when a town is targeted for bombing. But people who still have power in their cell phones are tweeting out the atrocities.
