  1. I call them “Republicans with table manners,” and don’t listen to, or contribute to them any more. For a real treat in revulsion, watch the News Hour and count the number of times the hosts appear to be on the verge of nodding off, like a bored judge. Especially bad is/were Kai Ryssdal and David Brancaccio on Marketplace. Just dreadful.

  2. I like to read history (20 year old news) just as much as the next person. Here’s some new news and analysis. The neo-cons (Zionists) would like the American people to believe that ISIS is a threat to them. They are not. They are a threat to Saudi Arabia, Jordan, the UAE, Egypt and of course Israel. The amount of military armaments supplied by the United States to these countries is what they all have in common. The US spends $682 billion (tax) dollars a year on the defense department. The next biggest spenders on military preparedness include Canada, Russia, Australia, China, India, England, France and Germany. They spend a combined $652 billion dollars. We alone spend $682 billion and they as a group spend $652 billion dollars. Now the neo-cons want us Americans to not waste this ISIS crisis and give even more money (tax dollars) to our for-profit military industrial complex. Then there is this: ISIS cut the heads off two reporters which is an atrocity. In 2013 Saudi Arabia beheaded 113 people. Isn’t that an atrocity as well?

  3. That piece was from 1993 about a study done in 1991. I would like to see the same study done for 2013-2014. I bet it’s even worse now. I do not listen to NPR “news” programs.
