Holder says they will investigate NYC death

Who the hell knows if it’s for real?

US attorney general Eric Holder announced a federal investigation into “potential civil rights violations” in the death of Eric Garner, just hours after news broke that a local grand jury had decided not to indict the New York police officer who placed Garner in a chokehold.

In a televised address, Holder said the Justice Department would investigate whether Garner suffered any civil rights violations when he was placed in a chokehold by New York police department officer Daniel Pantaleo.

A separate DoJ investigation is already underway into Ferguson police officer Darren Wilson’s fatal shooting of another unarmed black man, Michael Brown.

Holder promised the investigation into Garner’s death, which was caught on video, would be “independent, through, fair and expeditious” and pleaded with demonstrators protesting against the decision not to indict Pantaleo to remain peaceful.

  1. Holder talks a lot of shit but never delivers a result. He’s been investigating George Zimmerman for two years now hasn’t he? Where’s that indictment? What about all the crooked bankers he’s been investigating? Will he indict any of them? Poverty is the root cause of most crime. People trying to make a buck do some strange things. Including the thieves in the 1% who Holder never indicts. Productivity increased 2.3% in the 3rd quarter (July, Aug. Sept.) while wages declined 1%. Workers are producing more and being paid less. Where do the savings (profits) go from lower wages and increased output? For the past 20 years, 80% of them have gone directly into the pockets of the top 1%. The oligarchy. Which is the reason for our horrible wealth inequality problem. Is that fair to all concerned? Especially the poor?
