I guess because I never had infertility issues, it’s hard for me to understand stories like this. A woman and her boyfriend created embryos before she had chemotherapy, and the now-ex-boyfriend doesn’t want her to use them. So I read the whole heartwrenching thing, and near the end, I see this:
Dunston did have a child in 2012 using a donor egg and sperm; the boy shares neither her nor Szafranski’s genetic material.
Jesus Christ. People are so fixated on replicating their own DNA that this child doesn’t count?
