The Daily Beast is a publication that far too frequently makes me cringe. They’re kind of a pretentious, high-brow version of the National Enquirer:
One of President Obama’s closest advisers said he lied to the country for his own political benefit when he publicly stated his opposition to same-sex marriage in 2008. David Axelrod writes that he knew Obama supported gay marriage in 2008 in his new book, Believer: My Forty Years in Politics. He quotes Obama as saying “I’m just not very good at bullshitting,” after a campaign event where he stated his opposition. Obama later announced his support for gay marriage during his second presidential campaign, claiming he had “evolved.”
There is no defense for lying. Or stealing or murdering or being a politician. None.
The politicians have been everywhere lately. Even more then they normally are. And lying through their teeth for political gain. Which means they want more money.
ISIS, ISIS, ISIS. Who cares about ISIS? Apparently not the Iraqis who have lifted a decade-long midnight to 5 am curfew in Baghdad. It is now a 24-7 open city with new shopping malls popping up all over town. There is a vibrant night life with theater and restaurant goers out in droves and entertainment boats filled with revelers floating up and down the Tigris.
But here in the United States our politicians want all of us to be afraid. Be very afraid of a possible ISIS attack. Why?
Because they want more taxpayer money for the Defense Department, the Homeland Security Department and broader enforcement of the Patriot Act.
We are being snookered by these lying sacks of political shit on a minute by minute basis. Democrat and Republican.
