Yesterday in New Hampshire:

BlackLivesMatter activists who planned to disrupt a Hillary Clinton event in Keene, New Hampshire, on Tuesday afternoon were denied entry to the event by U.S. Secret Service because the event was at capacity, according to CNN’s Dan Merica. Clinton reportedly appealed to the agents to let the activists in, but to no avail. The group tweeted that they were in discussions with the campaign:

#BlackLivesMatter co-founder Patrisse Cullors, who was in contact with the activists, later told the New Republic that the activists were eventually let into an  “overflow room” at the Keene event, and have been told by the Clinton campaign that the former Secretary of State will meet with them today.

When they do, the small group led by Black Lives Matter Boston founder Daunasia Yancey plans to direct a statement and several questions at Clinton specifically about her platform and record on drug enforcement and criminal justice. Their talking points and planned questions, which Yancey shared exclusively with the New Republic while en route to the event, mention Clinton’s previous support of policies “which instituted draconian penalties for drug possession and abuse at the same time they funnel money away from anti-poverty programs and into hyper-militarization of urban police forces and the institution of white supremacist police profiling policies.”

  1. Good for her (Although I’ve read she couldn’t/wouldn’t commit to anything specific). Whatever, every Dem candidate should be seeking their support. Now I’d really like to see some serious outreach to the Hispanic community. Immigration is not the only issue.

  2. Clinton just hired Harry Reid’s Hispanic outreach director. And no, she won’t commit to anything specific because she’s looking for things she can actually get through Congress.
