I do believe the world would be a better place if we all lived in a musical comedy. So I was thrilled to go to Singalong Sound of Music this weekend in Ocean Grove, a little town near Asbury Park.
I wondered how I would stay awake through a three-hour movie, but since we had to learn the hand signals, etc. for all the songs, it was actually quite active. (I especially loved one group dressed up as the Goatherd and goats from “The Lonely Goatherd.”)
It reminded me so much of my father, who loved Julie Andrews and took me to see the movie for my birthday. It was unusual for any of us to get time alone with Dad, so it meant a lot to me.
A good time was had by all!

Everyday I feel like I’m living in a scene from The Sound of Music, and wonder if that back way into Alberta I used to know is as unknown as before.
