In response to a reporter this morning who asked Clinton to comment on Bernie’s New York Daily News interview, she said:
“I think he hadn’t done his homework and he’d been talking for more than a year about doing things that he obviously hadn’t really studied or understood,” Clinton said in an interview on MSNBC’s “Morning Joe,” just one day after losing the Wisconsin primary to Sanders, “and that does raise a lot of questions.”
Clinton refused to say Sanders not qualified. This am: "I will leave it to voters to decide who of us can do the job that the country needs"

Bernie took that comment and turned it into yet another convenient fundraising outrage (check your inbox!) here in Philadelphia last night, claiming she called him “unqualified” to be president:

Unforced error! He needs to take some time off. Nonethelless (yeah), I am not entirely uncomfortable with the proposition that your funding may just signal for whom you work. But that disqualifies the field.
Not a good choice of words. Morally Disqualified or something else would have been better. But all the umbrage taken at the word is a bit forced and over dramatic. Although Bernie’s counter-umbrage is even more pathetic. Nobody comes out of this looking good. No question she is the sharper more competent one. But she is stil a limousine neoliberal thru and thru, and that is the point Bernie was trying to make and failed miserably at.
I’d like to ask what is moral about Bernie collecting millions from small-time donors at this point.
“Limousine liberal.” Right. The one who’s worked for health care for all, against anti-woman violence, for foster kids, for basic education, etc., etc., etc. If that’s your definition of a “limousine liberal,” you know what?, we could use more of them.
There’s nothing wrong with wanting the shining city, but that doesn’t let you off seeing the rocks right in front of you. You don’t get to invent your own facts. Bernie’s jumped the shark here. Pretending she’s unqualified, when she has about ten times more plain old factual experience, is so sexist I’m mainly shocked he’d do that in public. Progressives are supposed to try to be getting over any bigotry.
Bernie et al definitely need a crash course on how not to appear sexist. Clinton is too ambitious and unqualified. Got it.
Is Bernie still claiming he’s not going negative? All he’s done is insinuate she’s corrupt. For months now – her donations make her corrupt.
Hoodwinking gullible kids out of their money telling them the delegates are going to switch? Sure. Got it – that’s not immoral at all.
