It sort of seems that attempts to deal with this phenomenon are going kind of sideways: A professor at Merrimack College published a list of sites offering fake news or clickbait-y content and among those listed were Think Progress, Raw Story, and Crooks&Liars.

Her criteria are very muddled, but she seems to be saying anything with a partisan slant is inherently untrustworthy. Which of course is absurd.
