House Republicans barely managed to pass their Obamacare repeal bill earlier this month, and they now face the possibility of having to vote again on their controversial health measure.
House Speaker Paul Ryan hasn’t yet sent the bill to the Senate because there’s a chance that parts of it may need to be redone, depending on how the Congressional Budget Office estimates its effects. House leaders want to make sure the bill conforms with Senate rules for reconciliation, a mechanism that allows Senate Republicans to pass the bill with a simple majority.
Republicans had rushed to vote on the health bill so the Senate could get a quick start on it, even before the CBO had finished analyzing a series of last-minute changes. The CBO is expected to release an updated estimate next week.
“Unaware,” said Representative Jeff Denham of California, with noticeable surprise Thursday, when advised that his party leaders still hadn’t sent the bill over to the Senate. Denham was one of the House Republicans who ended up voting for the measure, after earlier in the week opposing it.
The number of ACA repeal votes is in the sixties. You would think that they could get it right by now.
They stampeded this pig out of the House because they knew what the CBO score on the uninsured would be. Now they want to go back and put the “moderates” in boiling grease? The reconciliation effort will basically be a filibuster repeal. There is no way that Senators vulnerable to statewide constituencies pass the same or a related bill to the House. Passage will be a sham, if it happens.
Ryan’s job was to write and then pass a bill which contained between $900 billion and $1 trillion dollars in health care savings.
That bill passed last month with two votes to spare.
Why did they need that $1 trillion dollars in savings?
In order to get Trumps tax cut bill passed.
90% of that $1 trillion dollar cut from the Republican health care bill is earmarked for tax cuts for the upper 10% of income earners in the Trump tax cut bill.
The bottom line is that the entire Republican agenda will be held up until a health care bill passes.

back-slapping, grinning, beer and all. As W discovered with the “Mission Accomplished” joke aboard an aircraft carrier, there’s a huge price to pay when you put the carriage before the horse. Dumbass House Speaker, Ryan, hasn’t even sent the Vomit Bill over to the Senate yet, and when he does, he’ll deeply regret what he gets back. Yeah, let ’em have to vote……….again!!!!
