Read it all. I think that you seriously underestimate the dynastic factor at work. This last election was presumed to be JEB! v. Hillary. Trump cleared the decks of Bush in remarkably short order. Clinton’s problem was that she was perceived to be both Obama and Bubba III. She still won the national vote. You want another long term headache for Democrats, let the Republicans place the first woman in the Presidency. Pence is already damaged goods. I bet Trump has a heart attack or stroke before 2020. He does not look well.
Not going to argue point by point, but I’m pretty sure the roght Dem woman could get elected. Sp could the right Dem man. But whp would that be? Centrist Dem leadership hates DFH purist socialist scum. Socialist left are tired pf LOTE and will stay home. Need a healer first, candidate second.
The Progressive Left has a shitload of potential candidates for 2020, both male and female. I’d suggest a relative newcomer to the arena who’d have broad appeal among the 20-45 year old demographic. Perhaps even Robert Kennedy for those older types like me who still remember the Camelot legacy. Personally, I’d like to see a Kamala Harris on the ticket as well, although California is already a given. I dunno, it’ll be interesting to see who the Dems roll out against Pence (or The Idiot). In any case, I think the country will be so tired of thug rule that the Dems could nominate a box of rocks and still win in ’20!!!!
