  1. That always seems to be their story:”We didn’t know anything about this until it broke in the media.” And they expect us to keep believing them, no matter how many of their previous statements have been proven to be lies.

    I can’t make any sense of this — what does “determination” mean in this sentence? Is it legal jargon? Deliberate obfuscation?
