How the right lost its mind and embraced Donald Trump

Trump Rally On The Mall

Well, Charlie, some of us Democrats have seen this coming for a LONG time, and are not even a tiny bit surprised!

This is a painful story for me to write. For a quarter of a century, I was a major part of the conservative movement. But like many on the right, in the wake of Donald Trump’s victory I had to ask some uncomfortable questions. The 2016 presidential campaign was a brutal, disillusioning slog, and there…

The crazies on the Right had a lot of help from the neo-liberals.

The neo-liberals created the atmosphere that gave credibility to a character like Trump and the fact that lots of Americans now believe that the globalists have taken over America.

Since the neo-liberals took power in 1992, they have done a lot of damage to our economy with such idiocies as NAFTA and to our foreign policy with their lunatic vision of remaking the Middle East in our own image and likeness (Jeffersonian democracy).

NAFTA stripped American workers of their bargaining power which resulted in declining wages and unemployment.
    That was not an accident.

Neo-liberal interventionism in the ME was meant to control the flow of oil, and militarize those societies to create a shield against Russia and China. (As well as to keep the Zionists content and quiet.)
Those are the facts and not the “alternate facts.”

Neo-liberal control of the Democratic Party must end ASAP.

Dude, where were you when Newt Gingrich’s GOPAC issued “Language: A Key Mechanism of Control”?
And your whining BS about the TEA party “movement” is adorable. The TEA party was a movement, all right, a movement of Republicans away from the wreckage of the Bush administration just in time to repudiate all of their “principles” and begin attacking the black Democrat with them before day one of his presidency.
If you gave a rat’s ass about your “conservative” movement (there’s nothing conservative about them; the task of conserving norms and traditions has fallen to the Democrats years ago) you would be blocking the exits to prevent another mass scuttling away from personal responsibility by those same Republicans who cheered the destruction of the budget surplus with massive tax cuts for the rich while two ill conceived wars were launched on the nation’s credit card, then magically became newly minted “independents” who had never even heard of this Bush fellow (who they twice voted for) when the wheels came off of the Bush administration and the sheer tonnage of bullshit they were required to swallow in order to support him became unsustainable.
You go on at mendacious length about their mental anguish at being dragged kicking and screaming into the 21st century, and completely fail to note the already ramping up of their flight from responsibility for the damage their tantrum has inflicted upon the country.
And you manage to whine about Rush and Fox taking over your party without a word about your sainted Ronnie enabling that by taking the fairness doctrine out behind the barn and shooting it in its head.
I don’t think you’re so much an ideological orphan as a stereotype addict who has finally hit the point where the consequences of your addiction can no longer be easily concealed.
