The one common denominator in the rise of the Republican base of which Schmidt speaks is gerrymandering.
Gerrymandering is a monopoly.
Monopolies are destructive to competition.
The oligarchs love monopolies.
Monopolies create “stable markets” in the so-called “free market” economic system.
Capitalism is built on a lie and so is our current political system.
And yet the rubes keep believing in and supporting both delusions.
It didn’t work for me. I still see them.
