WASHINGTON — A company listed in the Monday indictment of former Trump campaign manager Paul Manafort and his associate Rick Gates received funds from the Republican National Committee for work done in coordination with Donald Trump’s election campaign.
Manafort has been deeply involved in Republican politics for decades.
He was Gerald Ford’s campaign delegate coordinator. He came to Ford’s campaign having been one of Nixon’s top dirty tricksters along with his pal Roger Stone.
Manafort was Reagan’s southern coordinator and one of George H.W. Bush’s senior advisors.
Trump has known and done business with Manafort since 1980. Trump met Roger Stone that same year.
Manafort owns a very expensive apartment in Trump Towers.
