Take the flu piece to heart. I spent Xmas and New Years in ICU out cold on ventilator and dialysis as a result of flu that turned into pneumonia that turned septic . . . all within a couple of days. Only a touch of the flu, I thought . . . I don’t remember being taken to the ER. Lucky my sons live with me and found me in time. Now I’m going through multiple rehab for neuropathic damage that’s cost me the ability to walk and the use of my right arm and necrotic lesions on my ass. Thank god for my insurance through work, I’d be dead without it. Flu shots anyone?
