Russian trolls, etc.

No one can tell Russian bots from average trolls on Twitter, and that’s a very bad thing

I’m feeling sadly vindicated today. Because I worked for David Brock for four weeks during the primaries, I was labeled a “Hillary shill” when I talked about the Russian trolls on Twitter.

It wasn’t as if it was subtle. And I had a pretty reliable trick for confirming their origins.

Anyway, so here we are. The Russian trolls were told to attack Clinton, but not Trump, Sanders, or Stein — because it was useful to divide the Democratic party. And it did a good job suppressing minority turnout in the general.

I wish it hadn’t worked, but here we are.

This specific indictment says it provides no proof the Russians affected election results; I think that’s coming.

  1. Why did the Russian’s attack Hillary?

Why did Putin hate Hillary’s guts? She told us that he did over a year ago.

Hillary’s State Department interfered in Russian, Iranian, Venezuelan, etc. elections and fomented civil wars in Syria, Yemen, Libya and elsewhere with the help of the CIA and USAID. Known facts.

Putin didn’t give a damn who won the 2016 election as long as Hillary, his bitter enemy, lost. So beginning in 2014, he deployed dozens of agents and spent millions of dollars in the US to make that happen.

Imagine how amazed and delighted Putin was to discover that his old, corrupt, oligarch pal, Trump had actually won the election because of some gerrymandered fluke in WV, Ohio, and Indiana.

Neo-liberal Democrats are trying to justify Hillary’s loss to possibly the worst presidential candidate in history by claiming that the Russian’s did it.

Hillary lost, in part, because she made dozens of stupid foreign policy decisions as senator and as SoS.

The proof of that is the fact that she pissed Putin off, personally, to such an extent that he used the same US playbook against her beginning in 2014, that she used in Russia to disrupt Putin’s elections.

  2. Putin tried to blame Hillary for the widespread protests that kind of scared him before his last “election”.
I’m sure that it was her meddling that caused all of that discontent and not the full scale looting of the country that Putin and his friends have perpetrated upon the country for the last couple of decades…

  3. Proposition:
virtually all of Sec. Clinton’s political negatives were deliberately constructed in a well-funded 25 year campaign of smears, disinformation, and propaganda

    Observation:
It’s a damned shame that these calumnies worked quite well on a fraction of the ostensible political left.
