For the next several days, I will be attempting to refabricate my tax return from two years ago (at IRS request) because I never printed it out and mailed it. This will require shoveling through large mountains of shit paper until I find the proper documents.

Oh my. My condolences, Susie. We’re getting ready to move halfway across the country and I have been kicking myself for not keeping our paperwork, shall we say, better organized. What a pain in the ass. But at least I don’t have to deal with the IRS in relation to our move. Hopefully, it will all work out just fine for you. Good luck.
Gosh, I had no idea there are so many folks who are in the same boat as me. I faithfully paid the IRS for years because—when I was working—everything was automatically deducted. Now, however, since I’m retired I didn’t realize that “other income”—as in cash/checks from my dead wife’s former employer—-should’ve been reported. Silly me. I’m still paying outa’ the booty for back taxes that I’ll probably be paying till they toss my ass/ashes in the sea.

And I swore on a stack of unfiled papers that this year all tax papers would do into one folder….
