On Saturday, June 11, A Full Plate Café will be hosting its 1st Annual Chili Cook-Off at Liberty Lands Park in Northern Liberties from noon–3:30 p.m. Professional and amateur teams will compete in three separate categories of chili: classic red chili, white chili and vegan chili

Beginning at noon, cook-off competitors will be serving up tastes of their creations, accompanied by A Full Plate Café’s sides including regular and veggie hot dogs, baked potatoes, nachos and corn bread. Soft drinks will also be available for purchase as well as brews from Chili Cook-Off sponsor Philadelphia Brewing Company.

All guests will be given a wristband, a spoon and a ballot in order to vote for the People’s Choice winner, which will be announced at 2:30pm.

Think the secret family chili recipe has what it takes to take the crown? Those interested in competing must register before Friday, June 3, at 4 p.m. Entry forms are available at the cafe.
