Many of my friends have told me about the huge loans that were taken out to get their kids through a bachelors’ degree. It is just mind blowing. Even the academically gifted kids bear the burden of college debt.
I just roll my eyes when a boomer goes into the “well, I worked my way through.” Many older folks have not a clue the struggles and challenges to financing college. It just isn’t the “good old days” anymore.
I was fortunate. I was eligible for grants, scholarships, and a campus job. I also worked at the local K-mart and delivered pizzas. I was a busy girl, but, I got out with a degree without any debt.
So, for those who don’t understand the differences from even 30 years ago, this article will put it in perspective.
A very recent poll showed that over 60% of those between 18 to 35 would vote for Bernie Sanders.
2% of those over 64 would vote for Sanders.
The old folks—Baby Boomers—-are living in a completely different and totally outdated reality then are young Americans.
