I called Rep. Chris Carney’s office and told them while I was not in his district, I did raise money for him and as long as he kept voting with Bush, it would be a cold day in hell before I did it again.
“This man came down here to Philly, sat and drank with us and asked for our help,” I said. “He told us he was a progressive, and instead we get this. I want him to support the RESTORE Act, and if he doesn’t, I will never push another dime his way.”
It won’t make a damned bit of difference if I’m the only one who calls. If you gave him money, pick up the phone.

I called that stinking liar twice today, reminding them of Donna Edwards victory last night.
“Does representative Carney want to be next? Cus he’s certainly pissing off the people who elected him.”

Update: The House Dems just prevailed, 222-196 in beating back the Rs effort to substitute the Senate version of the FISA bill for the bill currently on the floor, a 21 day extension of the Protect America Act. This was a procedural vote, but a good win. Now the vote is on extending the PAA.
Update 2: The 21 day extension fails, 191-229.
Don’t know what happens next.
I’m not going to get a reply, but I did send a fax to Senator Inouye, who voted in favor of immunity.
