  3. No. Really. Read and learn about paleoclimates and geological change here on earth. Ever hear of the Wisconsinan glaciation, the last ice age? Those glaciers started melting 15,000 years ago. Humans didn’t cause that process to begin. Humans didn’t warm the globe enough that the water released from the glaciers caused the Susquehanna River valley to become the Chesapeake Bay.
    Human-caused global warming is an intellectual error on a scale perhaps equal to the medieval belief that the earth was the center of the solar system. Notice how all the “fight global warming” campaigners end with the need to “invest” and “sacrifice.” Carbon offsets are unicorn eggs. Occupy Wall Street is more relevant to insuring everyone’s immediate well being than this nonsense. Global warming exists now and has existed in the past and will exist in the future — get over it! But humans are not causing it. Never have, never will. Don’t conflate refutation of the alleged cause of global warming [and all of the profit potential that view represents] with the fact of its existence.

  5. Conserving resources is nothing but good, but so is understanding that we’ve only been burning fossil fuels for 150 years, while the glacial melt has been going on for many thousands of years. Certain people have profit motives for selling us “alternative” infrastructures and devices. The situation will be self-correcting when the fossil fuels begin to run out and human populations and activities contract appropriately. We’re made of star stuff…

  6. For 1,500 years, the best and brightest believed the Earth was the center of the solar system. The ignorance of the crowds and the carbon dioxide hockey-stick graphs have seduced plenty of big people. All of this technology hasn’t made it any harder to be a Ptoleymist in this day and age. Humans is still humans….
