We hate you, but send money

From Rolling Stone:

Sea levels have been rising in Louisiana and they’re threatening to wash out a highway that’s a supply route for – wait for it – oil and gas…

Officials in a state with an aggressive tax-cutting governor – Bobby Jindal can boast of having pushed through the largest tax cuts in the state’s history – one who consistently inveighs against government spending, are “demanding” the Feds send money. More here.

  1. The only time Republicans don’t want federal dollars is when they don’t need them. But just wait for some natural disaster to strike and these hypocrites are standing at the front of the line with their outstretched hands ready to grab as many taxpayer dollars as they can get. “Am I my brother’s keeper?” Secular Democrats say “Yes,” and Evangelical Republicans ask, “Where’s that written in the Constitution.”

  2. Wasn’t the call from Rethug ‘colleagues’ of Jindal to let NO drown after Katrina? Good for the Goose, etc. Personally, I see no reason to send a dime of Federal money south of the Mason-Dixon line. The free-loading south needs a taste of its own rhetoric. Frog meet Scorpion.
