Last night

I was hanging out my window taking pictures as the wall clouds moved in, hoping I didn’t get hit by lightning. Very high winds but they were very hot – felt like a heat gun. You can’t really tell from the picture how massive these clouds were, it looked like that scene in “Independence Day” when the spaceship appears.

  1. That’s exactly what I said when i saw the clouds, waiting for that huge spaceship to emerge…!!!

  2. A lightning strike to a big tree about three blocks away has mucked up my computer, not sure if it’s at Windows level or Explorer. I can’t get it to respond to left clicks (right ones work) or keystroke code for the same action.

I had disconnected the PC when the storm was looking really bad, checked Wunderground and didn’t see much lighting activity, so I plugged the PC in and was doing something when…lights out.

And off for about two hours. Using no AC means I start out pretty warm and without fans it was awful. I left, after disconnecting the PC so it wouldn’t be hit by the surge of electricity coming back on.

Well, it came on, then began behaving oddly. Then, suddenly it froze and I cldn’t get it to anything. At all.

I found the action from the flashing police lights (which are almost blinding when seen close up). Beautiful tree will have to be removed, as the monster limb which was split off took a log of the main trunk with it. Alas.

And, so, here I am at the library, trying to get stuff I depend on the PC for done.

There are a lot of good things to be said for paper.
