  1. Yes, it is a clue of some kind for those who care to look for clues. And, as the article concerning the California storms points out, it would be nice if, in the mountains, the precipitation was in the form of snow as opposed to rain, such that melt water can feed the streams next spring and early summer. Probably won’t happen though.

    Today in northern Illinois the temperature is 64. Nice “normal” December weather.

    Oh – thought maybe a couple of those mini solar emergency radios in the LL Bean catalog might make a practical item to get. Turns out a lot of other people must be thinking the same thing.

    Two of the styles are just plain sold out, forget about it, and the other two styles are still available, but the demand has been significant enough that shipping is not possible until January 13th.

    Which means, I’m afraid, that we should likely tell the Koch Brothers and the denier crowd that a few more of us are straying off the reservation. Yell louder deniers, and give us a stern, stern lecture about all possible ramifications of hockey sticks.

    That should do it.
