  1. Will there be blood? Well of course there will. Mass murders, coordinated attacks on law enforcement, home grown bomb explosions . . . it’s what the American Taliban thrive on. Wolverines!!

  2. We don’t have time to fixate on hyperbolic crap like this. The Michigan Militias, Posse Comitatus and white supremecists ebb and flow in membership over time. They will always be around in vaguely menacing form thanks to Scalia and Co upgrading the Second Amendment. But the real threat to democracy arises from confusing neo-liberalism with progressivism. We are being bled to death by a thousand cuts inflicted by our erstwhile allies.

  3. Many thoughts ran through my head reading this article and, yes, hyperbole was a word that came into mind. Living on the very edge of suburban Atlanta, I am right in the middle of the ultra right wing butt hurt right now.
    The time for widespread violence in the South resembling a Civil War passed with the enactment of the Civil Rights Act of 1964. From that point the probability began to drop significantly.
    Please do keep in mind that Republicans of all types do not accept the legitimacy of any elected Democrat and it has been that way for a long time. The Timothy McVeigh types, the White Supremacists will be around no matter who is in charge and small bands of “domestic terrorists” are probably the biggest threat.
    Yes, many Right Wing people are talking the about the on coming Civil War. They just know it is going to happen. These same people are armed to the hilt, but, that is not unusual in the rural areas. The biggest talk is from folks that are middle aged and older and probably couldn’t make the walk from their kitchen door to the mailbox at the end of their gated driveway. (Maybe, Billmon could have looked a little more deeply into the demographics?)
    The next war these “Patriots” are grumbling about? The coming “Race War” after the Trayvon Martin trial (no matter the verdict.) This, I have been informed by the informed Patriots……..
